The August 2026 Newsletter has now been postedThese three pages are the first of the 24-page August newsletter. Topics in this month's research report are: Commodities: Commodity leadership = inflation. International Equities: Short-term weakness building. U.S. & Canadian Equities: Mixed messages. In the commodities section, the main message is that the present performance leadership in natural resources is part of the late stage of the bull market and always creates higher inflation. Agriculture has the highest 90-day performance over the other commodities. Oil prices are expected to advance in Q4; the rally in the US dollar is failing. A new pullback target. Under international equities, the primary trend for the Dow Jones Global Index remains positive and rising; new upside target. Japan's Nikkei, followed by the SPX, lead in 90-day performance. In the U.S. & Canadian equities portion, the credit spread is widening. Traders are requiring more risk premium. The S&P 500 is the most overvalued in 46 years. Stocks still outperform bonds, and in sector rotation, only two industry groups outperformed the SPX in the last 90 days. Plus the rise in performance in the healthcare sector.
