Technical Speculator ...your financial market review

The November 2023 Newsletter has now been posted

This is the first page of the 25-page November Newsletter,

Topics in this month's research report are Commodities: War, T-bond yields, oil & gold.  International Equities: Weakness is building.  U.S. & Canadian Equities: Fear is driving the market.

In the Commodity section, we review the breadth of the S&P Commodity Index (GTX),  how the impact of the Israel/Hamas war is having on WTI prices, gold prices to year-end, and what copper prices are suggesting about the global economy.

The outlook for international equities has changed over the last few months.  Upward trends have retraced and broken key support levels.  Emerging markets (EEM) remain under the headwinds of the US dollar.  Most European markets have rolled over and expect to close out the year on a negative note.

Sentiment indicators for the US markets are uniformly showing fear from investors.  The US unemployment numbers begin to rise, and the impact that has on the S&P 500.  New downside targets for the US and Canadian equity markets.

And finally, we look closely at the business cycle.  Is the economy still expanding, or has the economy moved to the next phase?
